pserver update - permission denied

Hello there,

I have problems using some cvs commands via pserver.

I can login, add and commit files over the network using "-d :pserver:" but if I
want to use "update" or "release", I get a "permission denied".

>> cvs -d :pserver:address@hidden:/usr/local/cvs update NetMag_de/
cannot create_adm_p /tmp/cvs-serv11998/NetMag_de
Permission denied

Strange enough, update _does_ work, as long as I am in a directory
without any subdirectories.
All commands do work, if I login to the sever, and use cvs locally.

I even updatet to cvs-1.11 (using SuSE 7.0, but installed the cvs.rpm
from 7.2) to get better error-messages, but the above message does not help me
much more.

Permissions on the /tmp-Directory on the Server are
 drwxrwxrwt 28 root root 16384 Aug 24 11:27 tmp

I know, this question has been here before, but as it seems, it has never
been solved, or am I missing something?

Thanks,
Ronny
