Hmm,

I don't understand your reasoning.

I have a set-up where the CVS server is on linux and all the clients (mac, windows, linux, solaris) use that linux server.

So far (4 months) we have had ZERO problems.  We did dedicate a linux box to run CVS so we did not run into any resource issues.  I have seen CVS fail when resources (memory, disk etc) are scarce so we threw hardware at that problem.  The linux box is running software raid and we back up the CVS repository using tar over a Samba mounted share.

So your question: "How can I communicate between a windows NT server and a Linux client" is so ambigous that I can think of some obvious answers like - a) TCP/IP b) CVS :pserver: protocol. c) ssh protocol - RTFM.  I don't know if those answers are very useful.

Cheers
G

Hi,

How can I communicate between a windows NT server and a Linux client?  Is there an equivalent to Samba that fits this scenario.  Not all clients are Linux so I dont want to put the CVS server on Linux.

Thanks in advance,

alex
