could not get working directory: Permission denied |

Hi,
I'm using WinCVS 1.3.4.3 Beta 4 (local build 3) on win98 as a client and
have a respository on remote linux machine running CVS 1.11. I access the
repository using ssh 1.2.27 protocol version 1.5 standard version on the
linux machine and ssh-1_2_14-win32 on the win98 box.
I can login via ssh fine and can create a new repository on the cvs server
via winCVS (i can also tag and untag existing modules on remote server),
but i cannot import from the local machine to the newly created remote
repository. Neither can i checkout using winCVS from an existing remote
repository created on the linux box.
example of problems in winCVS:
cvs import -I ! -I CVS -W "*.doc -k 'b'" -m "initial import for project"
docs phoebe start (in directory F:\module_name\docs)
i get the following error:
cvs [server aborted]: could not get working directory: Permission denied
i get this for *any* import command (binaries, text wotever)
likewise if i try to checkout an existing module on the server:
cvs -z9 checkout -P media_sim_game/docs (in directory F:\CVS)
there's
cvs [server aborted]: could not get working directory: Permission denied
again
are there permissions etc on win98 i don't know about??
so far the only way i can use the repository is to ftp my files to the
server, import them there, check them out there - but i can't use winCVS to
get them to a local working directory...mmm...(i'm sure it's
obvious...isn't it?)
thanks,
phoebs
