--allow-root with server

Hi,

a while ago there was the proposal (even with a patch) to allow the
--allow-root option being used for server not only pserver.

I did not see any changes in the CVS sources. Is it still an issue? I
would very much like to have this functionality available.

Another question: Is the --allow-root option (in pserver as of now)
checked for init as well or only for later access to an existing
repository?
