Problem installing cvs-1.11.1p1 on hp-ux

Trying to install on HP-UX cs01 B.11.00 U 9000/800 142434636 unlimited-user
license.
After doing configure --prefix=/opt/local/cvs, get this issuing make (HP's
/usr/bin/make):

        /usr/local/pa20_64/bin/gcc  -I.. -I. -I../src \
                      -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -g -O -c mkdir.c
mkdir.c: In function `mkdir':
mkdir.c:42: argument `dpath' doesn't match prototype
