time and date in CVS... |

How can I make CVS
to preserve date and time of a file. When I add and commit a file to the
CVS repository and then remove the file and try to update it, the file I get
does not have the original date and time. The following is an
example;
# ls -l
foo.c
-rwxr-xr-x 1
root swdev 18 Jun 6 2001
foo.c
# cvs add -kk
foo.c
cvs server:
scheduling file `foo.c' for addition on branch `test'
cvs server: use 'cvs
commit' to add this file permanently
# cvs commit -m "This is a test"
foo.c
RCS file:
/cvs/cmtest/foo.c,v
done
Checking in foo.c;
/cvs/cmtest/foo.c,v
<-- foo.c
initial revision: 1.1
done
# rm -f
foo.c
# cvs
update
U
foo.c
# ls
-l
-rw-r--r-- 1
root swdev 18 Dec 7 10:14
foo.c
Notice the date was
changed from June to Dec.
Is this the correct
behavior for CVS?
Thanks
