thanks for the information.

by the way, what exactly do you mean by "sandbox" ?

I know what it means, but I wanted to give Rich an authoritative
answer. However, cederqvist-1.11.1p1.pdf did not contain the word at
all. A search of the FAQ revealed a single reference

   http://ccvs.cvshome.org/fom/fom.cgi?_highlightWords=sandbox&file=42

It seems to me that a term so basic to the understanding of how to
use CVS and how to discuss it in this mailing list should be defined
in one or both of those documents. When I tried clicking on the [Add
a New Answer in "CVS Home FAQ-O-Matic"] link, I found that one must
have a login to add an answer.

Would someone who is able to add answers in the FAQ-O-Matic please
add the following entry:

Q: What is a "sandbox"?

A: A sandbox is the working directory where a developer has done a
cvs checkout. This private directory is where all file modifications
are done, and where testing is performed before committing changes to
the public repository.

Feel free to wordsmith this if you think it needs clarification or
additional information.

Thanks,
Fred
