Although the OP was using Linux, his boss was using WinCVS to view the log
messages.
Windows Controls like Multiline EditBox and RichEdit (which is what I expect
WinCVS uses to view the log messages) require '\r\n' to begin a new line
rather than just '\n'.
I hope that clears it up. If not please get back to me. :-)
