Large files checkouts - solution on the way? |

Hello there!
We use CVS and we have several large (20-120MB) files in the
repository. When checking out the latest version, CVS (or RCS as it
seems) reads the whole file into the memory before sending it. So when
several people are checking out updated files, the server runs deeply
into swap space.
There is note on cvshome.org (at
http://www.cvshome.org/cyclic/cvs/dev-req.html), suggesting a change
which would fix this. Is there any effort to implement this change into
CVS?
Thanks,
Michal Kara
