"inflate: unknown compression method" after server upgrade to 1.11.16 |

When I use a client which inserts the global '-l' option together with
my newly upgraded server, I get the expected "global `-l' option
ignored" warning.
However, if I also specify a compression level, I get the following:
address@hidden tools] cvs -nq -z1 up
cvs update: inflate: unknown compression method
cvs [update aborted]: reading from server: Input/output error
Server:
cvs 1.11.16
RedHat 7.2
Client:
cvs 1.11.1p1
RedHat 7.2
Note that I have many clients deployed, so I'd like to understand the
problem (not just deploy newer clients).
Thanks,
David
