Sudden problem connecting to server |

I have absolutely no idea what has changed in my configuration recently but
here's what I'm experiencing.
All attempts to do *anything* with the server, whether from the server
itself or from a client machine, generate the following error message:
cvs [login aborted]: Error reading from server dev1: -1
I have removed the server version I had installed and upgraded to the latest
CVS for NT with no change in behaviour. I can telnet to the port but as
soon as I press a key or mouse-click on another window the telnet connection
is broken. With all tracing enabled (that I can find) all I get out of the
server trace is this:
CVS Server is acting as member of domain 'DATADEVELOPMENT'
Client sent ''
Couldn't find a matching authentication protocol
I don't know how recent the problem is, as I have only just returned to a
project that requires CVS after a month or so.
Any help would be appreciated. I'm running the latest versions of both the
server and the client.
