Yes, it should work in :fork: mode.
I will not work properly in :local: mode which does not copy the
modified files to a server-side temporary directory. In :local: mode any
modified file might be seen with a 'cvs -n status -l' command even if it
is not being committed via the current command because the command is
run in your original source tree.
