hey friends,

I have configured Cvs on Fedora Core 3. The version of cvs is
cvs-1.11.17-3..I normally use Tortoise Cvs from Windows XP Pro SP2 to
manage CVS.But today when I tried to run "cvs watch on" command on
FC3 nothing happened. It showed some errors

cvs.exe watch: No CVSROOT specified! Please use the `-d' option
cvs.exe [watch aborted]: or set the CVSROOT environment variable.

When I set the CVSROOT=/opt/project1 then it showed the following errors.

address@hidden project]# cvs watch on
cvs watch: in directory .:
cvs [watch aborted]: there is no version here; run 'cvs checkout' first

Do I have to login into the cvs and then issue these commands. There is
no place in Tortoise Cvs to issue commands like cvs watch on or cvs
watch add.

My experience with CVS is not much just few days old.

I have configure multiple repositories under /opt directory with pserver.

Thanks & Regards

Ankush Grover
