Even more importantly, don't *forge* email addresses.

The domain "spam.com" is real and it belongs to someone (Hormel, as it
happens, but for the sake of this discussion it could have been anyone).

By posting to a mailing list with a fake email address, you are committing
forgery. You are falsely claiming to be an authorised user from the domain
in question. What if there actually is someone whose username is "no" at
that domain? You're claiming to be them, that's what. This could have
real-world consequences for you and/or them.

And all the spam which would have been sent to you if you had used your
real email address is now getting dumped on some innocent third party, which
is appallingly selfish and ignorant. You wouldn't like it if someone went
around posting to mailing lists with _your_ email address because they
didn't want spam and didn't care how much extra they were making you get,
would you?

If you do ever have to munge your address, munge it for one that does NOT
already exist. That much should have been obvious. If not, have a read of
the address-munging FAQ.

    cheers,
      DaveK
