You are right, I completely forgot this requirement of yours.

I only tell that cvs itself does not know this. I am not aware of any
3rd party tools that would, either. Perhaps someone else will jump in
and tell you/us that there is something?

I don't know, but perhaps, CVSNT (http://www.cvsnt.org/) might have
something like this? You might want to look over there. Note that their
web page does not work currently, at least not the German. Just replace
any de.asp with en.asp in order to be able to follow their links (until
they fix the problem), or set your browser to prefer the english
language version.
