Hi Andrew,

If you are going to use CVS, please invest some time in learning it.  I
suggest one of the many great books out there, eg: "Essential CVS" or
one I had a hand in writing: "All About CVS".

So you've learned that 'cvs checkout' creates a sandbox.  The companion
command is 'cvs update' which synchronises a sandbox with the server
(get's other peoples changes).

There are many differences in capabilities depending on which operating
system your client is, which operating system your server is, and which
version of CVS 1.11, 1.12, 2.0, 2.5, 3.1...  is on the server and
client... 

Questions about 2.0, 2.5 (CVSNT for linux&windows) and 3.1 (EVSCM),
WinCVS, TortoiseCVS etc should be directed to their own 'groups' and
'websites'.
