Couldn't send message via news: 441 437 Charset=utf-[78]

I'm try to post on fr.comp.normes.unicode, and gnus gives me the
following error :

Couldn't send message via news: 441 437 Charset=utf-[78]

Can anyone tell me what this means ? I posted the same thing on fr.test
and it's there allright.

I'm writing in french and portuguese, so there are many accents,
although I'm quite sure they all fit in 8 bits (iso-8859-1), there are
no multibyte characters in my post. But gnus seems to have an issue
with my charset...

Imagine, if using accents prevents me from discussing unicode ! How
ironic... :-)

Any idea what's wrong here ? I don't want to pester that group with
test messages.

Thanks,
João
