Thanks for the tip, Carson.
It appears that what I need is some combination of nneething (which
acts on directory hierarchies) and nnbabyl. I am not clear from the
docs whether nneething will properly identify babyl files as
containing many messages, or whether it will treat the whole file as a
single "message". I am trying to test it out using a directory
(~/BABYL) containing a couple of babyl files:
(setq gnus-secondary-select-methods '((nnbabyl "Inbox"
(nnbabyl-get-new-mail nil))
(nneething "BABYL"
(nneething-include-files "~/BABYL/"))))
but the nneething group is not being created for mysterious reasons.
Gnus just beeps at me.
