So far it works fine for me for and

*: Messages with the beta-nature.
*: Advertisements for Akron area businesses.
*: Discussion about the Akron Regional Free-Net.
*: Internet access in the Akron, Ohio, area.
*: announcements and discussion of jobs in the 
Akron area. simply seems to not provide group descriptions at all.

Remind me of the version of Emacs/Gnus you're using?
