Hi,

Done that via adding additional var to syslog file in /etc/sysconfig,
syslogd has started successfully... I've connected to box using sftp -
nothing in logs :(

2 questions:

1. How do I know the name of log file for SFTP in Jkit that "should be"
in /var/log directory ?

that depends on your syslog configuration. jk_chrootsh logs as AUTH, so on Debian/Ubuntu this is logged in /var/log/auth.log but on suse by default in /var/log/messages

2. What sort of events would be noted in that log ?

for example:

May 3 03:00:01 cort jk_uchroot[9346]: now entering jail /home2/nfsroot_via2/ for user olivier (1000)

or

May 8 18:56:34 cort jk_chrootsh[5364]: path /home/testjail/./home/jailtest is group writable May 8 18:56:35 cort jk_chrootsh[5364]: now entering jail /home/testjail for user jailtest (1002)

regards,
        Olivier
