Hi all

I sent an email, to the address@hidden email, as I wasn't sure where
to send it to, so apologies if this is duplicated. I had a look for
information on the gitlab/jami pages, but  thought it best to ask for
clarification.

Firstly thank you for producing such a feature rich, distributed voip
softwarethat is Libre Software, I tried it many times back in the
earlier days.

Secondly, I have question concerning OpenDHT proxy nodes, I have seen
the advice on how to setup a node using the Opendht package, however, If
i was to set up one of these to use with my devices or people I know
devices in order to lessen the bandwidth usage on them when on
connections with a limited quota or that are restricted networks etc ,
is there a way to restrict access to a proxy dhtnode , from people
adding my node in the client as there proxy on mass, assuming I can
connect from outside my network to the proxy node, what if anything
prevents other people from doing so?  or as such, Is there a rough
figure as to what an unrestricted opendht node could expect in terms of
data consumption? If restricted access is not possible?, Also does using
a proxy from a mobile devices lessen bandwidth/data usage , when push
notifications are disabled (I did see the note on the site about it
being less reliable, due to app back-grounding etc?) by a significant
amount? Sorry if this sounds long winded, any help with these questions
is most useful. Many Thanks  Ryan
