[KLog-users] New log in Linux Mint 18.1

Moving at a snail's pace into Linux I installed Klog via Synaptic.

1. There's no evidence where it got installed. It does not show up in 
Mint's "All Applications" list. I found the Klog executable by a search 
of the entire drive. Yes, did restart the PC just in case, that didn't 
do anything.

2. Right now I'm stuck on the "choose a log type" entry window. I've 
entered something in every box but it still says "categories not OK" and 
the OK box is grayed out. Cannot proceed beyond this window.

NB: the "Type of Operation" choice is stuck on "DX" and does not pull 
down with more types.
