Unfortunately there are more issues than DMA to consider. On SCSI, for
example, devices can become bus masters, and can thereby initiate
communication to other devices and/or the main system if directed to do
so. Even if the SCSI commands themselves can be validated (which isn't
perfectly true, but it's close), you can't always tell what the device
will do in response to such a command.
