I think exim has some configuration for this.  If you use it, it will store
incoming e-mail for some time, and compare it to other incoming e-mail.  If
duplicates arrive within some period (a few days by default, I think), the
duplicates are discarded.  Of course, because the mailinglist is usually
slower than the direct mail, it will be the list mail that gets discarded,
which is not what you want.

Another solution could be to not ask for the copy (from mailman) and use
procmail to put the List- headers in the message if they aren't there.
