Unfortunally, this is not the case. I would like to modify the libmicrohttpd
license such that this *is* sufficient and it seems like you feel that
it *should* be sufficient,

This is not a long discussion unless we make it one.
The LGPL is clear on static linking without offering a "bugfixing"
capability: it's not permitted.
I have checked more than on "legal department" on this one, I can dig
up more legal advice if you want, but we can greatly shorten this discussion
if we agree that static linking without bugfixing capability is in violation
of LGPL:
