I wanted to improve working efficiency (mostly programming & sysadmin
stuff) with an external monitor that offers a higher resolution than I'm
used to (1920x1200 with a cheap Hanns.G HG281D[0]).

According to the data sheets[1] the docking station supports up to
2560x1600 pixels with the display port interface.

I was not sure if my libreboot setup would work with the Eizo EV2730Q[2,
3] and a resolution of 1920x1920 because it was not clear to me whether
the maximum resolution is meant as the overall pixels or max. horizontal
/ max. vertical pixel resolution (3686400px (1920x1920) vs. 4096000
(2560x1600)).

I got the monitor today, here are my results:
- - It works out of the box.
- - Because it does, I can most likely conclude that other high
resolutions also work, that is as long as it's not more than 4096000
pixels.
- - There is a very strong optical illusion that the vertical resolution
is higher than the horizontal resolution, this may be because the
frame is a little thicker vertically than it is horizontally.
- - I get 8 quite _reasonably_ sized terminal windows on one
screen;

The only downside so far is that there is no pivot function^^.

Disclaimer: I don't know any other monitor with that resolution, I don't
have any connection with Eizo. Therefore the monitor I use must be
regarded as an example.
