Are you speaking of arguments given to `libtool' or given to `$CC'?
$CC
If the latter: AFAIK not every compiler allows aggregation of arguments
after its variant of $wl.
Ah. I thought it was pretty universal. If not then just ignore
the suggestion. But I checked Irix, Solaris, HP-UX 10, HP-UX 11,
Tru64 (and OSF/1), and of course any OS that uses GCC as its
compiler. Also checked icc. They all do agregation. If even
*IRIX* does it ... :)
