I was using "lightning-1.2.tar.gz", the last available
at <http://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/lightning/>. I now see
that it is very old.

On my shiny, new, discounted, Slackware-running
laptop I got "lightning--stable--1.2--patch-46"
from "bonziniyouknowgnu.org--2004b"; is it
the one people is supposed to use?
