http://code.google.com/p/lilypond/issues/detail?id=2713A small note on the classification of this issue. In practice I think it's a mixture of bug and enhancement.
* I think it's a _bug_ that \compoundMeter cannot combine any arbitrary set of time signatures already supported by Lilypond. As LP already supports time signatures like 3/10, 5/12 etc., it should support their use in a compound meter. As it is, sometimes it works (the 3rd example attached) and sometimes it doesn't (the second), which again to my mind suggests a bug.
* The request for fractional meters is an enhancement because first of all someone would need to implement the fractional upper part of the time signature -- LP doesn't currently support something like (2/3)/4 so it needs work before it can support something like \compoundMeter #'((4 2/3 4)).
