New issue 2950 by address@hidden: Two examples of a substitution
function with 'padding need changing
http://code.google.com/p/lilypond/issues/detail?id=2950
The example used in both the Learning Manual and the
Notation Reference to illustrate a substitution function
is badly chosen. It uses a function to modify the 'padding
property of TextScript, but the example code actually
works perfectly without the override. The example was
devised before skylining code was added, when it was
necessary to use 'padding to raise the script.
See the last example in LM 3.4.4
http://www.lilypond.org/doc/v2.16/Documentation/learning/saving-typing-with-variables-and-functions
and the first example in NR 5.6.2
http://www.lilypond.org/doc/v2.16/Documentation/notation/substitution-function-examples
More realistic examples should be used.
