Two comments:

a) When more than one voice is involved the removal of dots
should be done per voice, not in aggregate.  This would ensure
misleading notation, as produced by the example in comment 37
is avoided.  I'm rating this as a critical regression, as the
notation of #37 is not a matter of opinion - it is incorrect.

b) By default, notation more likely to be encountered in real
music should be correctly engraved.  Of the two examples, that
in comment 37 is far more likely, so let us focus discussion
on that example, and get that right first.
