This snippet

  \version "2.17.29"

  \unfoldRepeats \articulate <<

      \time 3/4 f2. |
      \time 5/4 \grace { f8 } e1 e4 |
    }
  >>

Produces an incorrect warning

  warning: barcheck failed at: 3/4

and an incorrect rendering (attached).

The snippet (or rather similar code within a larger piece) compiled cleanly  
with older versions like 2.17.1.
