Earlier error messages were gone, instead ..
$ guile --version

In a short test everything went almost right ...

BTW... I would like the following example to work, i.e., I would like to
have '('- and ')'-characters in 'finger'-font. That way is used to show
an alternative fingering. '.,-'-characters can already be produced in that
font.
