In release 2.3.14, lilypond output is broken for 5.8.6 and higher
numbers. 5.8.5 and
below works.
I can't see anything special about 5.8.5 that would break the build,
but this may just
be a symptom of a larger problem. Here's 5.8.6:

After adding a few extra @node commands (IMO we should have a
subsection under "polyphony", even if that's the only subsection in
that section), I can no longer build the docs. Texinfo complains of
"too many open files", which unfortunately is a rather common error
message (for the purpose of googling for a solution).
This might be something particular to OSX (maybe the fink texinfo
package only allows you to have 128 nodes, or something). Can somebody
on Linux reproduce this problem? Can anybody fix it? :)
