hi all,
i would like to make three suggestions for the chordmode-syntax and its output.
goal:
input-syntax should be equal to the printed chordsymbols in the output and
should produce the expected sound.
1.) handle :6-chord as base-chord (like :7-chord)
currently "c:6.9" is "c e g a d" and prints "c6/add9"
but should print "c6/9"
2.) "add"-notes shouldn't be recognized :
implent therefor "add"-syntax maybe like
"c:add9" "c e g d" "c add9"
"c:maj7.add13" "c e g b a" "c maj7/add13"
currently "c:maj7.13" is "c e g b a" and prints "c maj7/add13"
but should produce "c e g b d a" and print "c maj7/13"
3.) removing notes from chords with "^" should lead to "omit" in the output.
maybe replace "^"-syntax with "omit".
currently "c7:^3" is "c g bes" and prints "c7" but input should be
"c7:omit3" and output "c7/omit 3"
i think with these three changes the chordmode-syntax and output would be
convinient to almost all jazz-musicians.
the pdf-attachment is an overview about common chordsymbols and their notation
from "the new realbook" from "sher music".
regards,
johnny
