(I use "merge" as a generic term for "get lilypond/GDP updates into main)
John, I've added some new .txt files to Documentation/user/. I think I
added them to the GNUmakefile correctly as EXTRA_DIST, but please check
this before merging with main.
I still build the docs with the EXTERNAL_BINARY trick, so I can't check
`make dist' myself.
