Hello,

I have a set of patches for the Lilypond source code that I am trying to build
for the Music Notation Project (basically allows for some alternative staves).

I have been trying to build this in cygwin, but have came up against a problem
with the gcc version of the compiler. I have gave up with cygwin.

I am now going to go and install linux and do the builds there.

I am a bit of a linux virgin, I can navigate directories, untar stuff and run
./compile and make install, but that's about it (so apologies beforehand for
ignorance).

I've a couple a questions for builds for windows and macs. If anyone could help
I would be very grateful.
1) Am I correct in thinking that you can build binaries for Windows and Macs in
Linux by altering the config scripts?
2) if this is correct any pointers on how to do it :)

Thanks
Mark
