Observation about the new Git repo |

Hi Jan,
I have one more observation about the new repo that bugs me a little bit.
For the history *after* the switch to Git, I think it would be wise to
preserve the COMMITTER_NAME and COMMITTER_EMAIL variables, if
possible.
I understand that the pre-Git era requires AUTHOR_* and COMMITTER_* to
be the same, and I'm guessing that's why you chose to do it this way.
For example, right now, we have commits of this form:
author James Lowe <address@hidden>
Sun, 21 Mar 2010 22:28:49 +0000 (22:28 +0000)
committer James Lowe <address@hidden>
Mon, 22 Mar 2010 16:05:57 +0000 (16:05 +0000)
but in reality, Graham commits James's patches.
I'll have a look at lily-git.git to see if I can come up with a patch.
Thanks,
Patrick
