\partial sets measurePosition to a negative moment (which is noted in
NR 1.2.3 above the known issue.)

And since you're in the middle of a piece when you might need to reset
measurePosition, you shouldn't need to set it to a negative moment.  You're
setting it to a positive moment in the current measure.
This depends on how you want the bar numbers to work, if you want the two endings to have separate bar numbers or if you want both to count as the same bar number. As far as I can remember, both options can be found in printed scores.
