Hi,
Aaron Laws submitted a bug report on Tuesday for ugly output using
Lilypond 2.12.2.
http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/bug-lilypond/2012-08/msg00133.html
Subsequently he reported variable output using a couple of pdf
viewers. No surprise to experienced Lilypond users.
In the short time I have been working on Lilypond I recall seeing
other reports of ugly output which only appeared using certain pdf
viewers on certain platforms. Sorry, this is purely anecdotal; I don't
have references for those episodes.
Beautiful typesetting is a core aim and here is a reminder that it
depends on the rendering software.
I presume that our GNU project membership dictates what pdf viewers we
can recommend.

So would the correct policy be to recommend Evince and SumatraPDF, and
perhaps work out interop problems with them?
Does anyone have guidance that the bug squad can pass on to users who
experience interoperability problems in the future?
Cheers,
Colin.
