Uh, no?  If that's the usual representation of slurs in MIDI, why would
it?  It's probably not spelled out hard in any standard, but I expect
that there are some de facto standards used for MIDI play.

I have no significant experience with MIDI, so I have no actual
knowledge about established representations of articulations.  But I'm
pretty confident that this is an area where LilyPond should try
following conventions, so they exist, rather than being inventive.
