Weird.  The log seems somewhat corrupted:

Could it be that you are building in WSL?
The error seems to come from

rename_file (const char *oldname, const char *newname)
#if !defined (__MINGW32__)
  return rename (oldname, newname) == 0;
 [lots of code snipped...]

which has a special path for Windows; what
filesystem is WSL working with? What happens
if you remove the #if and keep just the
Windows-specific #else part?
