We also have "Pixel-based regtest comparison" as adviced by CG 9.5.
Alas, it seems broken.
I remember I once tried it out. It's more manual work, but it worked back then.
Now it fails with input/regression/markup-verbatim-file-utf8.ly:
fatal error: cannot find file 'verbatim.txt'
Probably the regtest should apply \withRelativeDir as said in the
doc-string of verbatim-markup-command, but that's just a guess.
