A long time ago, I used them for two things: making theory exercises, and 
easily drawing [vertical] connections in 20th century graphical scores and 
analyses (e.g. Schenker). I must admit it’s been a long time, though… at least 
five years since the last time.

I honestly can’t remember.
I vaguely recall wanting to have dotted and dashed lines, and maybe couldn’t…?
