dots in tab

Dots don't belong in the tab lines.  If you have stems, the
dots could go at the ends of the stems.  Sometimes as late
as the 19th century in
notation dots went at the ends of the stems instead of the
heads of the notes.  You will never get dots to work on
the tab staff for the vast majority of people, who want the
numbers on the lines instead of in the spaces.  Much easier
and better looking to keep the stems off the lines the way
they did in lute music and put the dots with the flags and stems.
