group articulations

Is there a way to assign the same articulation to a string of notes?  For
example:

        \notes \relative c'' {
        \time 2/4
        c8-- b16-. a-. g-. f-. e-. d-. | c4 r 

        }
}

It would be handy to be able to assign articulations as a group  when a lot
of consecutive notes have the same articulation marking.  Is this already
possible?
