In the 2.3.x series, you can use the same text markup commands as
in text scripts
title = \markup{ \center-align < "First line" "second line" >}

I would guess that you need \\\\, which translates into \\ in the
generated LaTeX file. Note that this is only relevant up to version
2.2.6.
