Well, look at the Finale Jazzcord font set I linked to. Is it possible
to get all those symbols as easily as any other? I don't see how I
could do half of them without some really unwiedly typesetting of
markup and lyrics.
If nothing else, you could leave the system as it is, if you like
Ignatzek and/or note linking so much. But perhaps allow for all those
symbols I proposed as part of chords mode, NOT linked to any set of
notes. So there would be chords in chords mode that only specify sets
of symbols. I think using lyrics mode for chord symbols is rather
counterintuitive, don't you think? Chords mode should (ideally) cover
everything you want to do with chords.
Perhaps you could set a mode inside chords mode that would divorce you
from the default setting, and leave you to play with the fonts and
symbols that you have, without the current restrictions.
