When I had the same problem here, the culprit was that I had a too old
version of fontconfig.
I upgraded to a bunch of font-related programs in fink 0.8, and it
works now. Thanks!
Matthias, does fink have a position on backporting packages from 0.8
that work
on 0.73 (10.3) ? I can report that these packages compile and work
cleanly on
10.3.9 with an otherwise standard fink 0.73 system:
fc-ghostscript-fonts
fontconfig-path
fontconfig2-dev
mftrace
pango1-xft2-ft219
(if you want, I could test the lilypond package as well; I normally
compile stuff
directly from CVS, so I don't build the package using fink's system)
