problems while building 2.8

Hello,

I previously succeeded in building 2.6 and 2.7 from source on my
computer (a Sun Sparc under Solaris 10).

With 2.8, I experience new problems :

- I cannot produce the man pages. help2man complains

help2man: can't get `--help' info from convert-ly.py

- I get another problem while building the fonts :

 > out/feta-braces-i.otf-table
gmake[1]: *** No rule to make target `unknown/c059013l.pfb', needed by
`out/CenturySchL-Ital.ttf'.  Stop.

Could anybody explain me what happens ? I am a bit puzzled.
